Amy, I love that May Crowning memory! How your hair uncurled. I am sure you looked beautiful! Funny, now that I think of it, I crowned the Blessed Mother in second grade too. I had made my First Communion more recently than the rest of the class, so my dress still fit me, which is how I got that honor. I hope kids still do May Crownings. Next May I will have to look into that.
I was in second grade when Toby Gilman and I crowned Mary as May Queen! Even at that age I knew how special that was. Mom curled my hair but because it's so poker straight, it uncurled before the ceremony. Funny what we remember.
