I’m also a classical pianist—I performed in the first Van Cliburn International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs—and a choral singer with the St. Louis Choir and the St. John Paul II Schola Cantorum. I am the author of the book "Pennario," chronicling the three months I spent in California with the Grammy Award-winning pianist Leonard Pennario, taking down his memoirs. He was a friend, a legend, and a major figure in American music—and telling his story changed my life.

I live across the street from the Buffalo Zoo! It dates to the Victorian age -- it's the second oldest zoo in the country. You can't beat its animal appeal! I joined the zoo and I walk there a lot and I love to observe the animals.
