Last Call For Zoomagination
Glow-in-the-dark fish, butterflies, dinosaurs -- and you, until October 5
Zoomagination at the Buffalo Zoo — summer lanterns glowing into fall. I went on a hot night in July, and shot this rather boisterous video for fun. It is quite the spectacle. The paths are lined with giant animals lit from within. It was creative, humorous, and a little surreal.
One thing missing: refreshments. Last year they had some kind of cash bar, and this year I and the other adults with me were wishing for at least a glass of wine. Still, the lanterns are worth a look — and you’ve got a few more days.
I love the big dinosaurs. This one in particular was a dandy!
Here are a few more photos I took. I loved the butterflies and the fish. I actually wish I could have gone back on another night and wandered around some more. My friends were leaving and my shoes were pinching me. Note to self: Next year, wear sneakers!
The festival runs through October 5. Click here for info and tickets.
