I love your champagne tree! (I admit, at first I was confused, thinking how can a tree be related to the divine bubbly beverage?).

Here’s a YouTube of my favorite “fun” Christmas song. I heard it first while listening to 91.1 Toronto and it just grabbed me: “So Many Santas” written and performed by the great Jamie Cullum from the UK. The videography of the band at Abbey Road Studios heightens the appeal for me. Enjoy! Merry Christmas!

So much fun!! Thank you, Amy! What a cute Christmas song. It's great to think of all the musicians who have recorded at Abbey Road over the years.

Well done! I love the French doors of the sunroom.

Amy, thank you! These French doors appear to be original to the house. The other ones are not. It's a miracle they have lasted all these years. I'm glad you like the tree! I can't stop staring at it!

I'd better get myself a Daddy-O because I need some inspiration like yours! Put up our old fake tree yesterday. Had thought about getting a new one, it's pretty old, but it looks fine. We decided to go with the old fashioned big bulbs for the sake of nostalgia. Nice change and I hung a few old ornaments I got from my mom. Now to begin cleaning!

Wende, I love those old bulbs! I was just talking to someone about that. Can we see a picture of your tree? It sounds beautiful! Old artificial trees are the greatest.

We bought a little tree today. Lot easier to put up, that's for sure.

I love little tabletop trees. When I was a kid, they seemed the height of sophistication. My city cousins always had one. I used to get a tabletop tree every year before I inherited this artificial number. Is yours a tabletop tree?

Jim Nolan's avatar

No not a tabletop but we have had small trees in planters in the past. This one is going to be covered head to toe in ornaments it’s so small.

A tree covered head to toe in ornaments, it's so small... That sounds charming!

I don’t know what my top song is, but I love your champagne tree!

Brenda, thank you!! So nice of you! I have learned to be happy with what God gave me ; )

My top song on YouTube is Erlkonig, no surprise there. Second is Charanga, a flute etude written by my brother Michael Colquhoun. There are dozens of videos of flute students playing it. It’s in the repertoire for serious students. Your tree is beautiful! Merry Christmas.🎄

Jeanne, whose is your favorite version of "Erlkonig"? I love that you love Schubert. I am going to check out Charanga!! What an honor that all these flute students play it. I can't wait to hear it. Merry Christmas to you too!

Dietrich, of course. I love the YouTube video of him singing it. No emotion on his face at all, but his interpretation is perfection.

I'm decorating as I always do but it feels especially nice this year. We bought a brand new white tree and it is festooned with lovely ornaments we have collected through the years.

A brand new white tree!! How exciting! I want to collect ornaments too. This year I will be scouting the estate sales to improve my ragtag collection. Your tree sounds lovely -- a new tree with antique ornaments. I would love to see a picture!
