My brother George asked me today, around 4, do you want to ski tonight?
And so we went!
It is not as glamorous as it sounds. It is more so! We crossed the street into Delaware Park and we went skiing on the Ring Road, on the Meadow, on the golf course, who knows where we were. It was hard to tell. The park becomes a different world in the winter. All of a sudden it all belongs to you. No soccer fields, no rugby field, no golf course.
All just snow!
And so we zigzagged through the park this way and that. I took that picture up above as proof that the better houses, I mean the houses on Nottingham, they still have their Christmas lights up. So pretty. Yay, Nottingham!
I still have my tree up, needless to say. Needle-less to say! The group home next door still has its tree up too. Yay, group home!
George and I are going to go skiing again. We have to act fast because the days will be getting longer and we are losing darkness. We have to make the most of the darkness and the short days while they are here. Before you know it, those days will be longer. Daylight savings time will kick in. Or will it? Apparently that is up for discussion. A lot of things are up for discussion these days. It is kind of exciting.
I walked in the park yesterday when it was light.
Not nearly as much fun!
However still fun, as opposed to the summer. I love when every picture looks black and white:
… and our beautiful skies…
and our sun and shadows…
… and our animal tracks. What in the world left these?
I wonder if Greenland is like this. You can’t help thinking of Greenland when there is so much talk of us buying it. Another thing up for discussion!
If someone told you these were the lights of Nuuk…
… you would believe them.
All we need is the Northern Lights!
